Not much was known about new 2018 Volvo V90 Cross Country because Volvo has been pretty secretive about it. That had changed, at least partially, when Volvo released a teaser video of their new Cross Country. The video was followed by an image that was shown by Swedish manufacturer on their official Facebook page.

The image is not all that revealing, featuring what is supposed to be the new V90 Cross Country, under the bead-clothe. Only visible parts of the car are headlights and taillights as seen from the side.

On the other hand, in the video, there can be seen parts of the Cross Country’s front end. It features new bumper that looks tougher than before, together with redesign grille that has visible changes in design style. Grill has abandoned its vertical slats, which have been standard for years, in favor of the entirely new dot pattern.

In the video, we could hear that the 2018 Volvo V90 Cross Country will feature an all-new chassis technology that will make the new model look like being born again. Nothing further has been said, so for any other clues, we will have to look at the spy photos of Cross Country that have been taken just a few months ago.

Cross Country V90 is not going to be an entirely new car, but only a regular V90 put on the higher platform, and with chassis adjusted so that car resembles XC60 crossover.

Despite its crossover looks it won’t be competing within that segment, but instead, it will aim at the Subaru Outback, Mercedes Benz E Class All terrain, VW Passat Alltrack, and Audi A6 Allroad.

It will be powered by standard Volvo engines that are being used on S90, V90, and XC90. Some of them are four-cylinder 2.0-liter twin-charged T6 and twin turbo 2.0-liter T5. Also, the hybrid option T8 will be included and will bring 2.0-liter twin-charged petrol engine that powers the front wheels while the rear wheels are powered by electric motor.

Official release date for V90 Cross Country has not been set, but the presentation will occur, according to some sources, at the 2016 Paris Auto Show.
