The 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan R has been spotted at Nurburgring and it really looks amazing and powerful. Moreover, the new prototype didn’t even try to hide the engine that is located in it.

From the first sound, it was clear that Golf R “borrowed” the unit to the new Tiguan R. However, the company still needs to announce performance numbers. Be that as it may, let’s just say that the engine in the Golf R produces 300 hp, but it is expected that it will deliver more power in the Tiguan R.

So, a 2.0-liter turbo unit is expected to deliver at least 310 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. These numbers might not be that impressive for SUV cars, but check this out. The car comes with an AWD, whereas the gearbox will be DSG dual-clutch.

In addition, the estimated weight of the vehicle will be below 3,500 lbs. Because of these several factors, the car will accelerate from 0-62 mph in slightly less than 5.5 seconds. Furthermore, the 2018 model can brag with the top speed which will be electronically limited to 155 mph.
