The second-generation Toyota Tundra hit the market back in 2007, and it has been with us ever since in several different forms. From the time of its introduction, the Tundra has gone through multiple facelifts, it received a range of new engines and transmissions, plus its cabin has been overhauled. Now, Japanese car maker prepares another upgrade for their pickup truck.

The all-new Toyota Tundra is supposed to make a debut in 2020, but before that, the current generation will receive a new face. The truck with a camouflaged front end has been spotted in the City of Angels, and even though the new upgrade will not be as large as the one from 2014, it will be enough to keep the Tundra refreshed and ready to compete against other models in the market.

Under the covers, there is a new front grille, hood, headlights, and abundance of redesigned trim pieces, all of which will provide the new model with more luxurious appearance. The truck you can see in the photos comes in CrewMax version, which is odd because we got used to seeing the base model in some earlier spy shots. With only a glimpse, you can see that side panels and the rear end have been revised, while generally speaking, the new vehicle will look almost the same as the current.

Engine

Also possible are engine modifications as well as the addition of a new 10-speed automatic transmission. However, some reports refute these claims, and the fans will probably have to wait three more years before the new gearbox arrives. The engines that are offered include the base 4.0-liter V6 that produces 236 horsepower and the range-topping 5.7-liter V8 which delivers 381 horses. It is unclear if these figures and if the lineup will be changed and by how much but we think that more modern units could significantly improve the current offer.
