The 2018 Ford Mustang GT has been spied, and despite the heavy camouflage, we managed to see few things that will be changed. This also includes the active exhaust tips that were already spotted on previous spy photos. New Pony car was first seen in October when it was driven in Dearborn. Now, we have a better look, and some of the visible details will find its way to the production model.

Although the vehicle is wearing a lot of covers, we can see that the design will be changed. This comes as no surprise because we have expected to see some exterior tweaks, but the big news is that the 2018 model will sport the new active quad exhaust system and upgraded transmission. It appears that the exhaust we can see in the shots is ready for the production or at least close to it.

Rumor has it that the 2018 Ford Mustang will get rid of the 3.7-liter V6 unit and that the base option will be EcoBoost unit. However, a new 10-speed automatic transmission will be added to the range. This transmission is developed by Chevrolet and Ford together, and we will be able to find it on the 2017 Camaro ZL1 as well. At this moment it is not clear to which powerplants it will be attached and if it will be offered in combination with all available units.

Ford also decided to expand the choice of colors for the new Mustang GT. Thus, Royal Crimson and Orange Fury will be introduced. This is the mid-cycle refresh of the most popular muscle car and the American carmaker has been quiet and unwilling to share any information about the next model. However, we expect to find out some of the details at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2017.
