Mitsubishi revealed the new Expander officially in Indonesia, but its full debut is expected at the Jakarta Motor Show which starts on August 10. It is a seven-seat people mover, and Mitsubishi often refers to this model as the “next-generation crossover MPV.” However, according to the media out of Asia, this vehicle will be called the Expander, at least in the Indonesian market.

The 2018 Mitsubishi Expander is going to be 4475mm long, while its width and height will be 1750mm and 1700mm respectively. It will have three rows of seats, while 205mm of ground clearance is expected. It was seen in the teaser photos, and now it is even more clear that the Expander took a lot of XM Concept’s design cues and the production model looks a lot like the stretched variant of the Eclipse Cross.

Even though the exteriors of the Cross and Expander are nearly identical, the cabin of the market ready model has everything we expected to see on an affordable people mover. Inside, you can see the simple design, cloth trim, and a pared back tech list. Speaking of features, there are LED headlights and taillights, faux wood and leather trim, air conditioning, electric windows, and a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth phone connectivity.
