2018 Mercedes GLA facelift teased ahead of its Detroit debut!

For those who haven’t followed yesterday’s events, Mercedes announced the unveiling of the GLA facelift on January 9th, and to spice things up just before the introduction they decided to post a teaser image of the small crossover. If you have a look at the photo we provided, you can see that the dark area on it actually reveals more than it hides like the new fog lights and the modified grille which are all packed in the bumper that “suffered” some mild cosmetic surgery. But that is not all, we believe there is also an update for the headlights in store as well.

Since this teaser image shows only the front of the car, we can only assume that the company will reveal one more very soon that shows the rear end which will probably host similar changes. We think that the 2018 GLA will have a new rear bumper and slightly different taillight setup, with new rims to round up the updated exterior look.

Mercedes GLA Interior

The interior will change to a certain degree as well, but details about it are not available at this point. What is certain is that it will host the latest infotainment system and a couple of new trim levels just to keep things interesting.

2018 Mercedes GLA Engine

Engine options for European GLA are plenty, but for the US bound one will have only two choices which are a 208 HP turbocharged 2.0 L or a much stronger 375 HP AMG 2.0 L one. The first one is reserved for the GLA250 and the GLA250 4Matic, but the most powerful unit will move the range-topping GLA45 which is exclusively available with AWD. Next to this, the only thing left is to see if the Mercedes will try to mix things up a little when GLA on US market is in question, and that will be known in Detroit when it unveils. Additional details for the Europe-bound GLA will be known in Geneva Motor Show set for the March of this year.
