The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will debut at the New York Auto Show and once it goes on sale, it will become the most powerful SUV in the whole world. And now, we have finally got the first photo of the popular Trackhawk model, and you can see it here.

It remains unknown whether the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that powers the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat model will produce the same 707 hp in the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. According to some reports, the horsepower output will not be as high in the Jeep’s SUV as in the two aforementioned cars, but we will have to wait for the official performance figures to be announced.

That won’t stop the new 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk from becoming a mean machine, and it is expected to be more powerful than the Grand Cherokee SRT with a naturally aspirated 6.4-liter Hemi V8 good for 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. A reliable source claims that the new Trackhawk will go from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, which is scary fast and the Grand Cherokee SRT could only watch it from behind with its 4.8 seconds.

Just for comparison, the Challenger Hellcat completes the 0-60 mph run in 3.6 seconds, while the Charger Hellcat is 0.2 seconds faster. The new Chevy Camaro ZL1 reaches 60 mph from a standstill in 3.5 seconds. Trackhawk’s time is so astounding because it is the mid-size SUV here that we are talking about and it is faster than some sports cars.

Jeep boss, Mike Manly told Detroit News last year in the City of Angels that both Grand Cherokee SRT and the Trackhawk will be offered to the customers. He said: “I don’t see any reason to stop our current Grand Cherokee SRT just because we’ve launched the Trackhawk, because they’re going to be very different vehicles. With Grand Cherokee, we have built up for a long time, that concept of capability at the two bookends — one: capability off-road, two: capability in terms of on-road performance.”

The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is all about power, and there are only some tiny visual changes, but it is basically the same as the SRT. Jeep decided to take a more conservative approach, but despite that, this vehicle still looks hot. According to Manley, the Trackhawk will hit the US market this fall, after which it will go on sale in Asia and the Middle East.
