South Koreans are improving tech on their SUV! As we have already mentioned, Korean manufacturer has been working on upgrading the tech and that includes the SmartSense safety systems which bring perks such as autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot detection, lane departure warning and lane change assist. And you can get all of that as standard throughout all model grades of new 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe!

Before we move on we’d like to point out that these features that we’ve listed are part of the SmartSense safety systems and the company didn’t stop there. They also threw in a 4.2-inch infotainment system, side puddle lamps, power folding mirrors, a self-dimming rearview and an electric park brake to its base Active X version.

When it comes to prices, the entry level 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe remains in the $40,990 price range before on-road costs even though there were numerous upgrades of standard specs. The Active X will still be powered by the 199kW/318Nm 3.3-liter V6 engine and it is connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission with power transferred to the front wheels.

If you want to buy the all-wheel drive Active model you’ll have to say goodbye to additional $860 when equipped with a 138kW/241Nm 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine or an extra $3860 for the 147kW/440Nm 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine. Why is that? Well, Hyundai halted the production of the manual offering and you can now only buy 6-speed auto versions.

Highlander retains the price of $57,090 while the Elite’s price goes up by a $1000. Both vehicles feature the same 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine and they are matched to the 6-speed auto which only comes as an all-wheel drive.
