The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is going to have a completely new look.

The new, third-generation Equinox brings modern technologies to the table for the General Motors Company. To begin with, the new Chevy will be the first car in North America to implement an all turbocharged powertrain lineup. It will come as diesel too, and the new nine-speed automatic transmission will also be offered across the range.

Moreover, the vehicle will use new C1XX platform instead of the current Theta platform and larger Lambda design. The car will be a front-wheel drive but there will also be an AWD option.

As for the diesel variant, the unit is a 1.6-liter inline 4, rated at 136 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. This diesel option is created for those diesel-oriented markets, but we think that it may find the way to some of the local buyers who are looking for ultimate mileage.

The diesel will most likely be a front-wheel-drive vehicle and the estimated fuel consumption on the highways should be 40 mpg.

The other units are a 1.5-liter inline-4 that produces 170 hp and more powerful 252 hp 2.0-liter inline-4.

The new redesigned 2018 Equinox will go on sale in spring next year.
