In recent years Cadillac is suffering a loss in sales every year when it comes to their XTS model. As we found out 24,335 units were delivered in 2014, 23,113 in 2015, and 22,171 in 2016 which is speaking volumes about this model. But the XTS is not that bad vehicle it is just that it was kinda forgotten by the manufacturer and it is surely in dire need of the facelift. Believe it or not, it still has that six year old design. Good news are coming our way in a shape of 2018 Cadillac XTS.

Although there were some rumors and speculations, Cadillac is not actually trying to kill off the X Series Touring sedan. How do we know? Well, the spy shots we have here (thanks to Facebook user Konrad Ysak) show us that this model will live on for 2018 and beyond. Pictures are taken in Chicago, and from these, we see a lot more prominent front end with a wider grille and upward sweeping CT6 inspired LED daytime running lights. At the rear end of the car, you will notice a redesigned bumper but the same taillights that are found on the ongoing model. The profile of the vehicle, unfortunately, stayed the same, and by that, we mean that it changed absolutely nothing, not even the look of the door mirrors.

As far as mechanics are considered, since its going to be a facelifted model, the 2018 Cadillac XTS will remain the same, meaning 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 unit will continue to soldier on with a possibility of replacing the six-speed automatic transmission with something more up-to-date that GM has to offer. This is mainly because the same six-speed transmission, co-developed with Ford, has been around for as much as the car – 6 years – and it is the right time for a generation switch. The likely candidate that might replace it is the Hydra-Matic 9TXX series which was developed for transverse use and as a direct replacement for the 6TXX series. This 9-speed transmission should also help achieve better fuel economy as well.

My name is Miloš Kalajdžić and I come from Brčko DC in Bosnia. I was born on July 20 th 1988 and so far I obtained a BSc in economics and one year of working experience in my field of study. I am a very hard-working person who leaves nothing unfinished and halfway done. When I commit to something I give my best to make sure that everything is done the way as it is supposed to be. I like cars and everything that comes with them. My passion are American muscle cars, but unfortunately the closest I managed to come near one is behind my laptop watching an image of the new Chevy or Dodge and writing about it. But that’s ok I’m still optimistic. When I’m not behind the laptop writing I’m on the streets and auto shows admiring all stuff rolling on four wheels being propelled by a petrol engine!
