The prototype for the 2018 Bentley Continental GT Convertible is being developed and you can see the spy photos of the new model.

The convertible is supposed to go on sale at the same time as the new coupe and that is sometime next year. However, it wouldn’t be too surprising if the company decided to launch coupe first and wait some time before they come with the convertible.

Although the prototype is heavily camouflaged, some aspects of the car are visible. For starters, the new model will come with the soft-top roof. The company unveiled the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept car at Geneva last year, and this car served as an inspiration for the body lines of a new model.

Because of the camouflage, one might think that the taillights will be square, but just like on the concept they will be oval-shaped. The MSB platform, which was first introduced in the 2017 Porsche Panamera, will find its way to the new Bentley. Because of it, the new vehicle will be significantly lighter.

The new Continental GT will be equipped with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W-12 engine which is expected to produce more than 600 hp. Moreover, a GT Speed Convertible is also an option, and it is rated at more than 633 hp.

The car will come out with one transmission only and it will be an 8-speed automatic, whereas AWD will be a standard option.
