Well, the D-day is finally here, and the moment we expected for a long time arrived. Audi finally announced pricing for their 2018 RS3 sedan and it kinda took us by surprise. It was not exactly the performance deal we have been hoping for, and I believe that you will agree with me.

Although this is the first time that the RS3 sedan is available Stateside, its starting price is not inviting at all. At $55,875 figure related to this one, it is more expensive (by thousands) than it German counterparts such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz, but thankfully it can not be compared one-to-one to them. Why you might ask? Well, here it is. For comparison, the BMW M2 starts at $53,495 while a Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG will ease your wallet for at least $50,875.

But this is nothing when you take into consideration that the RS3 has an all-new 400 HP inline 5 unit under the hood, which makes it more powerful than both of its German rivals. There is one more plus side, unlike the M2, the RS3 sends all 400 ponies to the all four wheels. As far as equipment is considered the RS3 will feature LED lighting, Audi pre sense basic, and blind-spot monitoring, plus a lot more that hasn’t been announced yet, which is another reason we can’t fully compare it to the M2 and CLA45 AMG.

The 2018 Audi RS3 sedan is set to make its debut next week at New York Auto Show, but besides this, there is also one more piece of interesting info, and it regards the RS3 production numbers. Apparently, it should reach its full production for the 2018 model year, but according to Audi, 2017 MY will have a limited number of RS3s produced. Apparently that limited series that comes with a $55,450 price tag will be delivered with carbon trim, Audi virtual cockpit with MMI Navigation, plus, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, 19-inch five-arm-blade design wheels, red brake calipers, and the RS sport exhaust system with black tips.

I am a very hard-working person who leaves nothing unfinished and halfway done. When I commit to something I give my best to make sure that everything is done the way as it is supposed to be. I like cars and everything that comes with them. My passion are American muscle cars, but unfortunately the closest I managed to come near one is behind my laptop watching an image of the new Chevy or Dodge and writing about it. But that’s ok I’m still optimistic. When I’m not behind the laptop writing I’m on the streets and auto shows admiring all stuff rolling on four wheels being propelled by a petrol engine!
