Honda released a statement where they announced that the Acura TLX sedan will debut at the New York Auto Show in April. Great news for many fans around the globe! And to make things even more pleasing, we acquired official teaser photos of the vehicle and even though we don’t have much info on details and features of this sedan we can discern many things from these images.

Before we begin and say anything, we would like to reflect on a few words that are coming from the Acura officials regarding the model. The company representatives promised a new premium features and technology enhancements that will sky-rocket the TLX in the field of the best-equipped cars and the most technologically advanced as well.

Before this, we had the opportunity to see the 2018 Acura TLX “naked” (undisguised) during a photo session. We could see the famous front fascia (courtesy of Acura Precision Concept) known for its distinct and recognizable design. We also noticed three different variations which signal three different trim levels of powertrains.

The first car (left-hand side) resembles an entry level model while the other two next to it are probably luxury and sport trims. We improved brightness on the official photo that we got from Acura, and we noticed that the fascia on this car is the same as the one on the red TLX in the image above.

When it comes to options under the hood, the state of things at the moment is that you will be able to choose this vehicle with two variations of the powertrain. The entry level of 2018 Acura TLX should offer 2.4-liter inline-four engine (206 hp) connected to an eight-speed dual clutch transmission. Next, we’ll have a 290 hp, 3.5-liter V6 engine connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Another option offered by the company is the V6 model with Super Handling All-wheel drive system. We still don’t know whether these engines will be modified or they will carry over intact. There are also speculations going around that there will possibly be a V6/hybrid powertrain option (courtesy of MDX) on the TLX but we think that it is highly unlikely to happen.

So stay tuned and hang in there, we are just a couple of weeks away from more info since it will debut in New York.
