2017 World Car of the Year Awards announced its finalists

2017 World Car of the Year Awards has six categories in total, and the finalist of those categories have been announced by the awards organizers. According to them, this is fourth consecutive year where the World Car Awards are the number one automotive program in the world, especially when the media reach and coverage is concerned. And now for the most important thing – the winners will be revealed on April 13, 2017, at the New York Auto Show.

Let’s bring some details regarding these awards. Five of total six award categories are chosen by a jury of 75 international automotive journalists while the last category is decided by world-renowned car designers that will determine the 2017 World Car Design of the Year. The ballots are secret, and they are sent by the jurors to the KPMG, an international accounting firm which is in charge of the vote counting task. Now beneath this is a list of the finalists that are going to be reduced to top three in each category at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, from which the jury will choose a single winner. As it is natural, our task is to report back to you the end result of this year’s World Car of the Year Awards. Now for the finalists:

Top 10 finalist for the 2017 World Car of the Year – Audi A5/S5 Coupe, Audi Q2, Audi Q5, Fiat/Abarth 124 Spider, Honda Civic, Jaguar F-Pace, Mazda CX-9, Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota C-HR, and the Volkswagen Tiguan.

The finalists for the 2017 World Luxury Car – Bentley Bentayga, BMW 5 Series, Genesis G90, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and the Volvo S90/V90.

Finalists for the 2017 World Performance Car – Aston Martin DB11, Audi R8 Spyder, Honda/Acura NSX, McLaren 570S, and Porsche Boxster/Cayman.

2017 World Green Car award will go to one of the next – Chevrolet Bolt, Honda Clarity Fuel-Cell, Hyundai Ioniq, Tesla Model X, and Toyota Prius Prime.

2017 World Urban Car category has top 5 models that are – BMW i3 (94 Ah), Citroen C3, Ford Ka+, Smart Cabriolet, and Suzuki Ignis.

And last but not the least category the 2017 World Car Design of the Year will be awarded to someone from this group – Audi A5/S5 Coupe, Jaguar F-Pace, Mazda CX-9, Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet, and the Toyota CH-R.
