2017 Toyota Supra: All you need to know!

Recently we acquired some spy photos and images of the Toyota Supra. Although we couldn’t see much because of the camouflage, we noticed that sporty shape could be seen perfectly well in the material we have.

Design

The prototype that can be seen in those photos is similar to the FT-1 concept car. Those similarities include the double bubble roofline, long bonnet, and upturned rear spoiler. As you may know, the idea of FT-1 was made in 2014, but that doesn’t change the fact that it looks modern and elegant.
We speculate that this car could have a large air intake, again, similar to FT-1. Why? Because of the large plastic blocks attached to both doors. That could be used to hide those intakes. We also noticed modified brake lights that are not finished and globular rear bumper that is supposed to give way to sportier details on the final model.

2017 Supra Interior

The company really put a lot of effort into covering the interior of the vehicle. However, we peeped through driver’s window, and we saw a large entertainment display above the dashboard and deeply implemented instrument table behind the steering wheel. That may not be much, but we expect this car to come with all the advanced infotainment and in-car technology updates and features.

Toyota Supra 2017 Specs

The company also kept quiet on this subject but what we know so far is that this car shares the same platform with BMW’s Z5 model. However, we think that Toyota will only rely on own engines when it comes to new Supra. When it comes to best performance, we expect it to have a twin-turbocharged V6 engine that will be paired with one or even more electric motors. Of course, we speculate that Toyota will offer a more affordable version that won’t have this complex hybrid system but a smaller four cylinder petrol engine which isn’t bad at all. If you are interested in how they actually operate, we suggest that you check it out all the manuals on manualsnet.com.

We’ve mentioned the Z5 model earlier today and what is quite interesting is the fact that both the Z5 and the Supra will be produced at the same factory. Why is that important? Well, because Germans took advantage of carbon fiber material to improve car’s performance (on i3, i8 and 7 -series). We have a strong reason to believe that Toyota will also try the same technique here that could get them better acceleration and better handling.

New Toyota Supra Price and Release Date

Toyota hasn’t confirmed the date of launch yet and neither did they say something about the price. We speculate that this car may debut at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show this year, but we don’t expect this car to be available in Europe or UK until 2019. When it comes to price, the basic models are predicted to go for £40,000. If you opt for a high-performance model, it will set you back for another £10,000 (around £50,000).
