Nissan is determined to do some hard work in order to make their presence really felt in China, and they did this by launching the Navara locally with which they are aiming not only at the commercial vehicle customers but also private owners. A smooth move from Nissan indeed.

The 2017 Navara is based on the third gen pickup truck which, if you recall, debuted in the People’s Republic at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show. The model in question is manufactured in partnership with Zhengzhou Nissan, and it has a starting price tag of 139,800 yuan which is equal to $20,530. This vehicle will offer its customers a choice between eight variants, meaning there will be FWD or AWD drive setup, and a choice of three transmissions – five, six, and seven speeds. The heart of the new Navara will be the 2.5 L engine that is capable of making 181 HP and achieve a peak torque of 251 Nm or 185 lb-ft.

What is scarce at the moment is Nissan’s details about each and every grade of the Navara aimed at the Chinese market, but there is something we managed to find out like the fact that it will host a V-motion grille, LED headlights, which are said to be unique to the segment, a spacious interior, and automatic AC. According to Nissan’s Light Commercial Vehicles Senior VP, Ashwani Gupta “The Nissan Navara is a proven success in markets around the world and now is poised to set a new standard for pickups in China.” He continued by adding “The Navara’s high-end features will guarantee a new, elevated driving experience – both for individual owners and commercial users, alike.”
