The 2017 Nissan Armada was unveiled right before the beginning of the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. The Armada is a full-size SUV, and it was first introduced in 2004. Now, this is the second generation of this SUV, and the 2017 model comes with some significant improvements such as additional safety features and slight design changes. What is interesting is that when it was launched for the first time, the Armada was based on the Titan pickup. Let’s take a look some of the most important aspects of the 2017 Nissan Armada.

Exterior Design

It is clear that this vehicle and the Nissan Patrol look alike. We can find similar grille design, integrated side steps, whereas the windshield is upright on both of these cars. Be that as it may, we are getting a unique styling.

Although the front grille on the Armada is similar to the one on the Patrol, they differ in a way. Moreover, some of the authentic parts here are a front bumper, LED projector-beam headlights and LED taillights. The updated version also comes with 18- and 20-inch wheels whereas the rear tailgate design is a bit specific.

New Nissan Armada 2017 Colors

The 2017 model is available in seven different colors. You can choose between Forged Copper, Super Black, Hermosa Blue, Mocha Almond, Brilliant Silver, Gun Metallic and Pearl White.

Some of the most important exterior features are optional power liftgate, 360-degree Around View Monitor which helps the driver’s view, especially in a difficult terrain. In addition to this, you can also find rain-sensing windshield wipers with a de-icing function and two-inch receiver hitch located on the rear end.

The Cabin

The very first thing that you notice when you step inside the 2017 Nissan Armada is how spacious this vehicle is. The legroom in the third row is a problem, though, and kids would feel more comfortable there than adults. On the other hand, the first two rows of seats boast massive legroom, and you would feel as if you were inside of a limousine. The amount of headroom is also great, and you can add the panoramic roof, which is optional.

The 2017 Nissan sports Zero Gravity seats, which provide terrific comfort are included, and previously we could hear Japanese car maker that they used space technology in the development of these. Both second and third-row seatbacks can be reclined to optimize space usability. In the front, there are vents which are integrated into the dashboard, and they keep the passengers in the first two rows cool, whereas HVAC vents in the ceiling are responsible for the third-row passengers. Furthermore, the seats can be heated and cooled, but this comes as an optional extra.

The total of eight people can sit in the new 2017 Nissan Armada, but the dual captain’s chairs can be added instead of the second-row seats which are a good choice if the adults are the ones who ride in this car most of the time. In addition, you can also insert a removable center console for the second row. One of the optional features you may put inside is a DVD system with two 7.0-inch monitors and USB port VTR jacks or CD-style DVD and BlueRay.

The passengers can relax and enjoy the music blasting from the 13-speaker Bose sound system. Furthermore, the new vehicle comes with SiriusXM satellite radio and Navigation system with NavTraffic Real-Time Traffic Information. According to the Japanese carmaker, the outside noises are reduced to a minimum.

The third-row seats can be folded flat, and if you do that, you will get 49.6 cubic feet of space. The second-row seats can also be folded, and in that case, 95.1 cubic feet is offered, which is great. So, the 2017 Nissan Armada is a terrific car whether you use it to transport passengers or cargo.

Engine options

This model comes equipped with a 5.6-liter V8 engine which is similar to the V8 unit in the QX80. The Armada’s unit uses Direct Injection Gas system (DIG) and Variable Valve Event & Lift technology (VVEL). Both of these improve fuel efficiency and increase power. This powerplant produces 390 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox with Adaptive Shift Control and Downshift Rev Matching.

The All-Mode 4WD system is offered in the new Armada and allows you to choose between four different settings while the system is controlled automatically. These settings are Auto, 2WD, 4WD High Range and 4WD Low range.
