After taking down one of the supercar giants, the Lamborghini Aventador, the NSX has another one in its crosshair. The bold new 2017 Acura NSX which didn’t get all that good reviews no matter how much hypercar it looked, now wants to show that it can take down its compatriot the 2017 Nissan GTR.

The GTR has a certain reputation that follows it around, and it is not good for the NSX. During the years well deserved epithet has been given to it as many are calling it a supercar slayer and let me tell you the name didn’t come as a spur of the moment, it truly earned it. Many out there argue that the GTR is a supercar for itself, and believe it or not, it is the one that is already nine years old and has recently received a makeover for 2017 model year.

Acura with its NSX, on the other hand, is fresh out and you can still “smell the packaging”. Although it has an NSX badge, according to all the latest reviews it has apparently nothing in common with its beastly predecessor, or in that manner, anything else that is found on the market today.

What these two Samurai warriors have in common are their powertrains. Both of them are featuring a twin-turbocharged V6 with dual clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive. The torque is one more thing that brings them closer together at 476 lb-ft while in the power department they are just 8 HP apart. Some of you might say that the NSX is “cheating” in a way because of its mid-placed engine that is aided with three electric motors and two seat arrangement, while the GTR doesn’t have any help from electrification and has two extra seats at the back.

All of this is slightly leaning toward the Acura NSX, together with the fact that it has already owned an Aventador in a drag race, and many of you are probably thinking it is going to be a walk in the park against the Nissan, but don’t be so sure. The supercar slayer was a name you have to earn. But what really happens between these two you can see for yourself in the video we prepared for you.
