Well, it was about time that respected workhorse such as Mitsubishi Triton gets updated, and boy what an update this is. The 2017 Triton will, in this update, receive more standard equipment than ever paired with some minor design nip and tuck, as well as additional optional equipment that will be available in the expanded range. The expanded range came thanks to the addition of a new variant, the Club Cab Chassis that will come with automatic transmission in the base GLX trim.

Mitsubishi also made an additional effort to make their vehicle more appealing to the masses, and they did that by adding a rear-view camera and a rear step bumper as standard to the all GLX double cab pick-up versions. Furthermore, the 4×4 variants in the GLX and GLX+ range will now be graced with 16-inch All-Terrain tires. The GLX range will also come with the company’s premium AM/FM CD system with a 6.1-inch color touch screen as well as new key fob design. The GLX+ range will host a new trim, the Club Cab pickup with automatic transmission as well, while all versions (as well as GLX range with added equipment) will receive something extra, and it will come in the form of auto A/C, piano black instrument trim, and fancy looking chrome interior door handles.

Mitsubishi Triton 2017 Interior

The GLS range will receive some exterior tinkering, meaning it will get its look slightly updated including a dark chrome front grille and headlamp surrounds. Inside will be something else. Apparently, Mitsubishi tried very hard when the interior is regarded adding Smartphone Display Audio (SDA) with 7-inch color touch screen and additional two USB outlets and an HDMI port which are supposed to bring Triton right beside the competition. But that is not all for the GLS version, it received platform-style side steps, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, and improved instrument cluster graphics as well.

Now, for the crown jewel – the top-spec Exceed range will host everything above mentioned, but it will have something on top of all that, and it will be heated front seats and an electro-chromatic rearview mirror, with metallic and pearlescent paint as a $590 option. To tie everything with a neat red bow, Mitsubishi decided to back up their entire 2017 model year Triton range with a five-year/100.000 km warranty which is a massive thing.
