After a very successful global debut at the 2016 LA Auto Show, the all-new gem from Mazda lineup, the CX-5, is ready to hit the European soil for the first time and where better to do that than 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The Geneva Motor Show will start March 7, which is just around the corner, and besides the all-new 2017 Mazda CX-5, it will host many other new vehicles from this manufacturer as well as from others.

Ahead of its debut at Geneva Japanese car maker released a statement saying “Six years after the unveiling in Geneva of the Mazda MINAGI concept, the precursor to the original CX-5 and an exciting new range of acclaimed vehicles, the new compact SUV takes Mazda’s most popular model in Europe into a new generation.” As you know, the new CX-5 is scheduled to hit the markets all over the globe this summer, and the engine lineup will differ from market to market. As of now we, unfortunately, do not possess the info what awaits drivers in the Europe, but we know that the North American buyers and the Japanese one will receive two petrol engines – SkyActiv-G 2.0 and SkyActiv-G 2.5 L, and these two will be closely followed by a SkyActiv-D 2.2 L diesel. A possible similarity probably could be expected in Europe as well, but we will have to wait and see.

As I already mentioned the 2017 Mazda CX-5 will not be alone in Geneva. It will be joined by 2017 model year variants of the CX-3 and Mazda2. Both of these vehicles are slated to show up at European dealerships sometime this spring with a couple of new goodies like enhanced i-ActivSense active safety technology, improved ride comfort, less noise, full-color heads-up displays, and redesigned steering wheel, but those are just some of the changes that are awaiting us all.
