Kia has finally leaked some photos of their new Rio model even before it officially debuts at Paris Motor Show.
New Rio will boast a bit sharper design lines than it was the case with previous models. It drains its inspirations from ongoing Soul model and is as such taller at the front end. The front grill is larger and wider, and that goes too for the headlights. These are broad and are more pulled back, as is the current trend in the motor industry. At the back, it features standard C-pillar that is higher than on 2016 Kia Rio, and this gives more head space to the passengers who seat at the back. In addition to this, the rear LED light groups are more angular than before.
On the inside, there aren’t many changes. The 2017 Kia Rio is equipped with the simple dashboard, made out of one piece. Lines are horizontal and are focused around three-spoke steering wheel while the center of the panel is reserved for improved Kia Uvo infotainment system, which features large touchscreen of the latest generation.
At the time of this news release, we don’t have any technical information available regarding new model.
As we already stated 2017, Kia Rio will debut at the Paris Motor Show, at least the hatchback version. Work on the sedan is still in progress, and we don’t expect its appearance before Los Angeles Auto Show in that will be held November. Other sources claim that sedan won’t be out before Chicago Auto Show. One thing that both of these have in common is the release date. They will find themselves on the market during next year and will be sold as the 2017 models.
Prices are unknown at this moment, but we think that it will be sold for the similar amount of money like before. The 2016 sedan is available for $14,165 while the hatchback is slightly more expensive and its price starts from $15,495. The slight increase is possible, but Kia wants it competitive with other models in the segment so it will not see huge changes.
