The sixth generation Chevrolet Camaro is considered to be one of the best performance vehicles in the entire world, right now and there is evidence to support this claim. Although this car may not be the prettiest and the most fashionable, when it comes to performance the Camaro SS 1 LE is irreplaceable.
Motor Trend’ Best Driver’s Car competition hosted the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1 LE and this time it competed against the previous, fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. Before displaying the result of the race, let’s take a look at some facts.
The Camaro Z/28 was made specifically for the race tracks and it is not suitable for the everyday driving at all. It has only one speaker and it doesn’t either contain air-condition, but the engine is forceful 7.0-liter LS7.
On the other side, the 2017 Camaro SS 1LE is equipped with the 3.6-liter V6 unit that produces 455 hp. This engine is able to set off 700 rpm and that is why this engine is one of the most exotic V6 plants nowadays. According to Motor Authority, the 2017 Camaro SS 1 LE was produced with the performance package that enhanced the trim.
Now let’s see the result of the race. Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was able to finish the lap around Laguna Seca raceway in 1:37.82, but the Camaro SS 1LE won within a hair’s breadth. The SS 1LE did it in 1:37.78 and thus proved that it is slightly faster than the powerful Z/28 and that with the new generation comes more power.
