2017 Cadillac CTS-V – Everything You Need To Know

-

The performance sedans may not be the most popular category or the biggest market, but manufacturers find this segment important because they can produce muscle cars and show off. We present you 2017 Cadillac CTS-V.

Exterior

The performance oriented CTS-V comes with a black mesh upper and lower grille, while for better cooling, the engineers produced larger grille openings. The hood has been made of carbon fiber and if you want you can pick a carbon fiber splitter, diffuser, rear spoiler and hood vent as well. Moreover, the new Cadillac is equipped with adaptive HID headlights with high-beam assist and LED signature vertical DRLs.

There are large vents behind the wheel arches, whereas the car features low ride height, all of which make this car appear more aggressive. From the regular CTS, the CTS-V got illuminated door handles, while the new model rides on V-Series 19-inch forged aluminum wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The new Cadillac is available in six different colors and the rear spoiler has LED brake lights and dual exhaust tips on both sides integrated into lower part of rear diffuser.

Cadillac CTS-V 2017 Interior

The 2017 Cadillac CTS-V comes with improved equipment and refined and high-quality materials inside the cabin. On the dashboard, center console and door panels, matte carbon fiber and suede are adorned. The driver and the passengers can relax and feel comfortable in 20-way adjustable heated and ventilated power front seats which also come with side memory function. The seats are covered in semi-aniline leather with suede inserts, but you can also opt for Recaro performance seats which have adjustable side bolsters and a shift knob. The interior of the 2017 Cadillac CTS-V is available in Jet Black, Jet Black with Light Platinum details and Saffron with Jet Black details.

The thick-rim steering wheel with magnesium paddle shifters is standard in the new model while a 12.3-inch HD display has the role of an instrument panel. Moreover, an infotainment with an 8-inch touchscreen is a part of the equipment as well, and it features navigation. The passengers can listen to the music coming from a 13-speaker Bose surround sound system. Dual-zone climate control is standard, but the passengers in the back have the tri-zone one and the available heating function for seats.

Engine and Performance

The 2017 Cadillac CTS-V is equipped with a large and powerful 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that produces 640 horses and 630 lb-ft of torque. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, and the limited top speed of this mean machine is 200 mph. The engine of this vehicle is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission with Performance Algorithm Shifting which sends power to the rear wheels.

Five different driving modes are offered, and they are specifically designed for the race track. You can opt for the Wet or Dry driving modes, depending on the weather outside, but there are also Sport 1, Sport 2 and Race modes available. If you want to avoid the track and drive this vehicle on public roads, you can opt for Tour, Sport, and Snow. It is hard to stop large vehicle like this once it has gained high speed, so a Brembo brake system with two-piece 15.3-inch diameter discs and six-piston calipers in the front and 14.3-inch diameter discs with four-piston calipers at the back are used.

The Most Important Features

The 8-icnh screen infotainment system comes with multi-touch support as well as proximity sensor and gesture recognition. Besides that, the new Cadillac features a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot that can support up to eight mobile phones. Of course, there are also Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports, voice control, remote engine start and keyless entry and engine start, but most fascinating gadgets are performance data and video recorder. When you are driving around the track, this system collects information about the ride itself, which you can see on the infotainment display.

2017 Cadillac CTS-V Price

The starting price of the 2017 Cadillac CTS-V is $85,595, but if you decide to add every possible optional part or package the price reaches $112,250. This is a great luxury sedan which guarantees a good fun and the motoring media have praised the performance of this car.
